Legacy is proud to announce ADCO, one of Australia’s leading building companies, generously volunteered its services towards the renovation of the Moss Vale Legacy Holiday House.

Opened in 1946, the Moss Vale Holiday House has allowed Legacy to facilitate opportunities for Legacy beneficiaries to socialise with others connected by shared experience through day trips and extended holidays. The retreat provides a sanctuary for widows and families to take a break and spend time together in a peaceful and supportive environment.

On 20 March, 11 ADCO staff members were on site to donate their time and expertise to the project. It is estimated ADCO and its trade partners contributions amounted to approximately $20,000 worth of labour and materials.

The works carried out by the ADCO team included the levelling and re-laying of pavers, the construction of a pathway in the backyard and other cement works across the site, ensuring safer paths of travel for Legacy guests – many of whom are elderly.

The efforts of ADCO are expected to significantly reduce trip hazards at the Moss Vale Holiday House and improve ease of travel across the site.

Lauren Pike, Volunteer Day Project Manager and HSE Advisor at ADCO, expressed her pleasure in being able to help Legacy with this project.

“Every year, ADCO dedicates the day to a charity of our choice, and I was this year’s team leader for my project. As a defence spouse, Legacy is close to my heart,” she said.

“Just knowing that there is an organisation out there that supports the families of veterans and not just veterans themselves is very reassuring.”

Legacy relies on the support of generous donors and volunteers to carry out its important work, and ADCO’s contribution is greatly appreciated.

Legacy Holiday Program Manager Nicky Cormie expressed gratitude for the works.

“We could not be more pleased with the outstanding work completed by ADCO. Their contributions have made a lasting and positive impact on Moss Vale Holiday House, and we are deeply grateful for their efforts,” she said.

“Thanks to the efforts of ADCO, the premises have been made safer and more accessible for all. This will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the women who frequent the area, enabling them to move around with confidence and ease and giving them greater access to the gardens.”
