The Gold Coast has hosted the final Queensland leg of The Legacy Centenary Torch Relay.

Starting at Southport War Memorial, the Torch travelled through many significant sites including the Esplanade, the Korean War Memorial and the Nerang River before concluding at the Gold Coast Legacy Club with the lighting of the cauldron.

A huge thank you to our torch bearers for making it a day to remember including singer/songwriter Normie Rowe, singer/songwriter Brian Cadd and Studio 10 presenter Denise Drysdale.

A special thank you to one of our oldest torch bearers, Legatee Morrie Hart who also turned 100 this year. Morrie has been involved with Legacy for over 40 years and has had the honour of attending weddings, graduations and other milestone events for the families he has helped provide care and support for over the years.

We have loved meeting all of our Queensland torch bearers over the past month. Thank you so much to our torch bearers and volunteers for giving your time to make this relay so special.

We can’t wait to head to NSW.

First stop…Far North Coast!
