Mackay Legacy
Dedicated to enhancing the lives and opportunities of our individuals and families by helping to care for their needs, protect their rights and secure their entitlements.
The inaugural meeting of the Legacy Club of Mackay was held on March 1st 1947.
Mackay Legacy has an active membership of 14 legatees and cares for 180 widows.
Our Mackay Legacy Patron is Mr Terry Hayes.
Our meetings are held monthly on the second Friday of each month, commencing at 9.00am.
The office is open on each Friday Morning from 9am through to 11am Office is contactable by phone when not attended by either redirecting your call or providing an alternative contact number.
Service we provide
Aged Care or in home care support
Legacy’s support for families and individuals ensures that all those we care for have a happy home life. This extends from help with house maintenance through to regular visits and phone calls.
Socialisation activities
From monthly morning teas to group social outings and annual celebrations, Legacy provides a regular means of social inclusion for those we support.
Community Visitors and Legatees
Legacy is a voluntary organisation founded on personal service. Throughout Australia, thousands of dedicated volunteers and members regularly visit or call those we support, ensuring they always have someone to lean on.
Claims Help
Legacy can assist families with filling out paperwork and making claims through Department of Veterans’ Affairs; as well as advocate to government on their behalf.

Being a Legatee is the most rewarding endeavour of my life. It makes me proud of my country when I see the enthusiasm and compassion volunteers bring to their roles as Legatees. I also see just how much enjoyment and fulfilment they get out of it.
