Armidale Legacy

Armidale Legacy - Legacy

Legacy is dedicated to caring for the families of deceased and incapacitated veterans. Today Legacy's caring and compassionate service assists around65,000 widow(er)s and 1,800 children and dependants with a disability. Legacy is a voluntary organisation supported by veterans, servicemen and women, and volunteers drawn from all walks of life. Our support and services now extend to include the dependants of members of today's Australian Defence Force who lose their lives as a result of their military service.

Legacy is dedicated to enhancing the lives and opportunities of our families through innovative and practical programs aimed at:

  • the protection of individuals and families basic needs;
  • advocating for their entitlements, rights and benefits;
  • assisting families through bereavement; and
  • helping people thrive, despite their adversity and loss.

Legacy Support

To maintain Legacy's services we rely heavily on public support. Our principal fundraising activity is the Legacy Week Badge Appeal. The appeal is to be held from 05 September to 9 September 2019.

Thank you!

While Appeals Week each year is the main fund-raising activity for Legacy, there are many individuals, businesses and organisations who willingly, and most often, very quietly support Armidale Legacy. This assistance is sometimes direct, but often in kind. There is an awareness of the work that Legacy does, and an understanding that it helps widows and dependents who have been a part of our community for many years.
Thank you.
