Robert Connor

Group Captain (retd) Connor joined the RAAF Academy at Point Cook on 18 January 1963 and graduated from Melbourne University with a BSc majoring in nuclear physics in 1965 and from the RAAF Academy in 1966.  After pilot training in 1967 he served at 38 Squadron on Caribou aircraft and had several months experience flying in PNG before a posting to 35 Squadron, Vietnam, from July 1969 to July 1970.  His flying experience includes Caribou, Macchi, DC3, Arava,, Nomad, Winjeel and Vampire aircraft accumulating over 5,500 hours.

He joined Canberra Legacy in 1998 and served on, and as Chair of, the Function Committee until May 2009.  In May 2009 he was elected as Vice President and then elected as President of Canberra Legacy in May 2010 serving in that role until May 2013.  He subsequently underwent training as a Pensions Advocate in 2013 and has remained in that role to date.  In 2016 he was elected to the board of Legacy Australia Incorporated and appointed as Chair of the National Advocacy Committee and remains in that role.

He is married to Narelle, has two adult daughters and lives in Canberra.
