Peter Keane

Legatee Peter Keane has been a Legatee since 2007 and is a current director on the board of Legacy Australia Incorporated.

Peter graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon in 1974 and served as an artillery officer in the Australian Army for a further 19 years.  In this time he undertook a range of regimental, training and staff appointments in Brisbane, Townsville, Sydney and Canberra.  He served overseas with the United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation in Syria and Lebanon in 1983.  He retired from the army as a lieutenant colonel in 1993 with a final posting in Brisbane as the Assistant Commander 7th Brigade.

He joined the Queensland Public Service in 1993 where he performed a range of senior management and executive appointments in the departments of Public Works and State Development until his retirement in 2011.

Peter has a BA (Mil), is a Graduate of the Australian Command and Staff College, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and has been a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Building.

Peter is married to Rosemary, and has five adult children.  He currently resides at Buderim where his personal interests in addition to his membership of Legacy include travel, golf, fishing and the growing number of grandchildren.
