Mal has been President of Far North Queensland Legacy Club since 2020 and was elected to the Legacy Australia Board in 2022 as the Rural Queensland Representative. He was elected Secretary to the Board in 2023.
In 2023 Mal was appointed to the Governance Committee, the 2030 Committee and the Advocacy Committee. He was appointed the Legacy National Aged Care Representative in February 2024.
He brings a wealth of community services experience having been engaged in managing various community sector agencies for over 30 years, including Community Development, Alcohol and Drug Recovery, Homelessness and more recently Executive Officer/Secretary of the Cairns RSL Subbranch. He is passionate about all Ex-Service Organisations forming strong collaborative partnerships because, ‘We All Work Better Together’.
He is looking forward to working with the other Board Directors of the Legacy Australia Board in moving the organization forward in the next steps in its evolution, building upon the past 100 years to ensure that it continues in its ongoing mission of ‘Supporting Our Veterans’ Families.
