Hunter Legacy

Since 1949, Hunter Legacy has been supporting and caring for the families of veterans’ who have given their life or health serving our country.

For over 70 years, Hunter Legacy have been providing care, compassion, and social support for Legacy families.

Hunter Legacy consists of 4 divisions across the lower Hunter covering Dungog, Cessnock, Kurri Kurri, and Maitland regions.

Legacy is a voluntary organisation founded on personal service. Throughout Australia, thousands of dedicated volunteers and members regularly visit or call those we support, ensuring they always have someone to lean on.

Claims Help

Claims Help

Legacy can assist families with filling out paperwork and making claims through Department of Veterans’ Affairs; as well as advocate to government on their behalf.

Personal development activities

Personal development activities

Legacy ensures children and young adults have the opportunity to participate with their peers in sports, drama and other activities that are of interest to them and potentially may be a long term career choice.

Seeking support?

Goulburn Legacy ensures each beneficiaries needs are assessed and support provided based on their personal circumstances.

Monica Weisser

Monica became a beneficiary of Legacy after her father, a Vietnam War veteran, lost his life to PTSD. Several learning disabilities haven’t stopped Monica from pursuing her dreams of becoming a counsellor and helping others with mental health issues. Legacy has supported her through her education and personal life.
